This particular bit of trouble starts when my buddy's wife, Pearl Stringer, calls for help. She says Jerry, my old pal, doesn't look too good. He never has, but this is different. Jerry's corpse sits in front of his computer, dressed in state of the art virtual reality gear. Even stranger is that Jerry is one of three beta-testers of a new computer war game who have died under similar mysterious circumstances in the last two weeks.
When the cheat codes of the game's beta version are delivered anonymously to my office, I embark on a game of my own - chasing the strangely satanic game designer and CEO of Real Whirled Games.
